Default Glad I found Free-Loops; I have a Creative Commons question

Hi! I'm a game developer - board games so far, but we're working on our first online/mobile game. I just discovered Free-Loops (cool site), and I've found a clip I want to use as theme music when the game loads. It says "Creative Commons Audio: Attribution1". I understand the basics of Creative Commons, so I think this license means I need to say something in the credits like, "Theme music by John Doe." Do I need to have a Creative Commons symbol with it? Do I need to include a link to the Free-Loops page? To the artist's site? I'd appreciate any help clarifying what I need to do.

Hey welcome man.

We've ran a few game sites in the past just started Geaky.com a few weeks/months ago.

Yes, you've got it for the most part.

You would indeed need to give the artist credit, you could also provide a link to the artist or at least a url (doesn't have to link)

Who is the artist if you don't mind?

Thanks so much for posting.

Default artist credit

Thanks for getting back to me. The clip I'm interested in is by Bobby Cole. If I use it, I'll definitely give him credit. I can't find a website for him, though. There are a couple of musicians name Bobby Cole out there, but I don't think either one is him. Do you have a URL for him? Thanks.

Bobby is one of our friends of sorts.

We actually paid $1 for each of those loops to be added to creative commons.

Send him and email he's really a great guy. Im sure he'd love to hear from you. Make sure to tell him you got the sounds from Free-Loops.com

If we decide to use Bobby's clip, we'll be sure to provide a link - and we'll say hello to him.

Another question. If an audio clip says "Creative Commons Audio: No," does that mean that it's free to use , even for commercial purposes? Or is there a fee? Thanks.

Im afraid that means its not a creative commons license file. I would be sure to contact Bobby on that. Im sure you guys can work something out. Just email him, i already sent him a link to this post. He thought it was cool.

Sorry - I wasn't clear enough in my last post. One of the clips I'm considering is not one of Bobby's. It's called "Piano Arpeggio Airy" and the artist is listed as "Wav Fx." It's marked "Creative Commons Audio: No." If I want to use that one, is there a fee? Are there any restrictions on use?

Im not sure on that one.

I would not use it commercially to be safe?

Those that are not creative commons are unknown as far as we know.

Im sorry for the confusion.
