Briggs Battle of the Bands is back to ROCK 2010! Winner plays at Summerfest on 6-26

Check out the Briggs & Stratton Battle of the Bands contest at http://www.briggsbattleofthebands.com! I work in their Marketing department in Milwaukee WI, and am trying to spread the word. We’re the largest producer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment and host a stage at Summerfest (http://www.summerfest.com), the world’s largest music festival. We think it’s a pretty kick-ass idea, but take a look for yourself and let me know what you think. All you or your friend’s band has to do is upload a song for users to vote on. If they win, we’ll pay their way to come party with us in Milwaukee…and trust me, that’s the one thing we know how to do here. We’ll fly the winning band out to Summerfest, put em in a hotel and let em play their set on our stage. Spread the word and join the battle..

So you wanna be a rock star? Well, here’s your chance. All you have to do is:



1) Complete the entry form…and upload an MP3 of the song you wish to enter
2) Win over the masses and get votes – legitimately
3) Voting will end on April 16 at 11:59 p.m.
4) The top 10 will be notified on April 17th and have until April 30th to provide a full CD to Briggs & Stratton.
5) The top 3 will be selected by a panel of judges on May 3rd.
6) The top 3 will be notified by e-mail on May 6th and their catalog of music will then be loaded onto the site.
7) Voting will reopen May 7th and close for good May 24th at 11:59 p.m.
8) The band with the most votes will be declared the winner and will be notified May 25th.
9) The winning band will be brought into Milwaukee on June 25th, get the rock star treatment, and play a show at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard at Summerfest on Saturday, June 26th.

What do we mean by rock star treatment? In addition to playing a show at the Big Gig, Summerfest, on the 26th. Your band will receive:



- Complimentary airline tickets to and from Milwaukee
- Limousine transportation
- A two-night hotel stay at one of Milwaukee’s finest hotels
- Special “Meet and Greet”
- Inside tour of The World’s Largest Music Festival, Summerfest
- Photos from your band’s visit and performance
- Video of your band’s performance
- CD copy of your band’s performance
